nowHere "Robin Jakes Punk In Ireland"

For Robin, it all started in 1977 when he saw The Clash for the first time. Robin was only 13 years old. That was the day that Robin's life changed.

"I saw all the early Punk bands during those years, twice The Clash and twice the Ramones in Cambridge." Robin

What Punk gave me Robin says, it's the feeling of do it yourself...just get up and do it. So when he moved to Ireland in 1988 he started to check the music scene here. Then Facebook came along and I thought I need to do something with this new thing.

He started filming live bands and started uploading videos mostly taken with his phone. This is how Punk in Ireland was born. From the Facebook group he recently created a website, which will soon become the hub for the punk scene on the island.

We met Robin at Thomas House, a historical pub in Dublin that always supported the scene, We drank while he was telling us his story. Here at nowhere music we are pleased to share with all of you the list of punk tunes that Robin has sent us. Join his community and enjoy the mix!
