Formed in Kilkenny in 2003, Bad Mothers Union quickly carved a niche in Ireland’s underground music scene. Their debut single, Fun For Five Year Olds, dropped in 2006, blending irreverence with raw energy. By 2008, as global markets crashed and Lehman Brothers fell, the band too dissolved.
Fans mourned the loss of a group that never quite played by the rules. Fifteen years later, in 2023, they reformed older, louder, and just as unpredictable. Their bassist retention rate sits at a chaotic 40%.
Known for their explosive live shows, they remain fiercely independent.
Critics call them “Kilkenny’s most resilient export.” Rumours of a new album swirl, but the band remains cryptic. Bad Mothers Union is back, and they’ve got unfinished business.
They prepared a great selection of music for YOU... Enjoy!
