Rome-based artist Odawin is Patrizio Ottaviani continues to captivate audiences with his unique musical style, blending international flavours and timeless influences. From 2016 to 2020, he was the frontman of Taprobana, releasing the EP Dawn. He embarked on a prolific solo career post-pandemic, releasing The Untitled EP with Wires Records and creating a new song every month until early 2024.

His latest release, Cantrips, under Seahorse Recordings, showcases a distinctive fusion of late-1960s psychedelia, Beatles-esque melodies, and Arabic and classical music influences. The result is a richly textured and immersive sound.

Produced by Marco Fasolo of Jennifer Gentle and recorded on analogue equipment at Big Three Studios in Brescia, the EP captures an authentic and deeply psychedelic vibe. Ottaviani leads with his vocals, piano, and guitar, joined by Federico Palucci on guitars and bass, and Yuri Croscenko on drums and percussion. Cantrips stands out as one of 2024’s musical gems, offering a hypnotic journey through sound.
